Huntington preset

We never upload your file—parsing runs in your browser.

How to export Huntington statements (web & mobile)

Huntington lets you export transactions from online banking and the mobile app. For the analyzer, CSV works best because it includes column headers we can map consistently. If you prefer, you can export QFX/OFX or save a PDF; PDF support is experimental and works only when the statement contains selectable text, not a scan.

  1. Web (recommended): Sign in → choose your account → find Download or Export → pick a date range (last 3/6/12 months) → select CSV → download.
  2. Mobile app: Open account → menu → Export or Statements → choose CSV or QFX/OFX where available.
  3. PDF: From Statements, save the monthly PDF. If parsing fails here, switch to CSV for the cleanest import.

Tip: export a full calendar month when you want recurring-payment detection; this improves our cadence matching.

What the analyzer detects for Huntington files

Once you upload your file, we normalize each line into Date, Description, Amount, Category. We automatically detect:

  • Recurring payments: monthly streaming, SaaS, and utilities by merchant + cadence.
  • Merchant cleanup: tidy short-codes (e.g., “AMZN Mktp US*” → “Amazon”).
  • Fees & refunds: bank fees, chargebacks, and refunds separated for review.
  • Duplicates: same amount + merchant within a small window are flagged.
  • Category rules: groceries, dining, shopping, transport, travel, housing, healthcare, subscriptions, income.

Preset mapping for Huntington (CSV)

Huntington CSV exports vary slightly by account type, but usually include columns similar to: Posting Date, Description, Amount, Type, and sometimes Balance. Our preset assumes a signed Amount column (debits negative, credits positive). If your file is split into Debit Amount and Credit Amount, pick Manual and select each column in the dropdowns.

Default map
{
  "date": ["Posting Date","Date"],
  "description": ["Description","Transaction Description","Details"],
  "amount": ["Amount"],
  "type": ["Type"],
  "balance": ["Balance"],
  "dateFormat": "MM/DD/YYYY",
  "currency": "USD"
}

Not an exact match? Choose Manual in the tool and select columns after we read your header row.

Known Huntington quirks & how we handle them

  • Posting vs transaction date: when both appear, we prefer Posting Date for stable month-end totals.
  • ACH descriptors: we trim trailing IDs and codes to normalize the merchant name for category accuracy.
  • Reversals/refunds: positive entries with reversal keywords (“REVERSAL”, “RETURNED”) move to Refunds.
  • Split debit/credit files: we compute Amount = Credit − Debit to keep signs consistent across banks.

FAQs — Huntington Statement Analyzer

Do you store my Huntington statement?

No. Parsing and analysis run in your browser. We don’t upload or keep your files.

Which file type should I use?

Use CSV for the best results. OFX/QFX works for most accounts. PDF is experimental and may not parse if it’s a scanned image.

Can I change categories?

Yes. You can overwrite any category inline and then download a clean CSV or paste into Excel/Sheets.

Will it detect subscriptions?

We use merchant + cadence matching to surface likely recurring payments such as streaming, SaaS, or utilities.

What if my CSV uses Debit/Credit columns?

Select Manual in the tool, choose Debit and Credit columns, and we’ll compute a signed Amount automatically.

Does this replace accounting software?

No. It’s a fast way to clean and explore transactions; export the CSV to your accounting or budgeting app afterwards.

Can I use multiple accounts together?

Yes. Upload one file at a time, download cleaned CSVs, then combine in Excel/Sheets for a consolidated view.

Is Huntington affiliated with this tool?

No. MoneyToolsHQ is independent. Trademarks belong to their respective owners.

Next steps

  • Download the cleaned CSV and save a copy in your finances folder.
  • Use our US Paycheck & Tax Calculator to cross-check net income assumptions.
  • Track monthly changes—rerun after each statement to spot new subscriptions or fees.
